Jay Rich
Jay Rich was born James Richardson to James and Qiana Richardson. Jay, at an early age, showed his interest and passion for music. He always had the ultimate passion for playing drums. He evntually began to enjoy rap music. At the age of 7 he wrote his first rap with the help of his mother.
Jay Rich recorded his first song at the age of 10 in the studio of City Mayz. His first song was a freestyle to Bow Wow's "Fresh Azimiz". After recording his first track he returned back with a follow up freestyle to Lil Romeo's "You Can't Shine". After recording his first two tracks, he eventually stopped rhyming.
But, sure enough Jay Rich returned to the studio of his uncle Sylvester Burks, and made his first beat with the help of Burks. Eventually, Jay began to write again, but wasn't recording yet. He eventually, as a freshman in high school, got his own equipment and produced his first released track "Can't Be Friends" (REMIX) ft. Trey Songz. After recording that single, he had written nearly 15 more songs.
Fortunately for Jay Rich, he met New Bay artist Sage the Gemini. Once he found out Sage was a rapper, he was really motivated to keep up his music after he spoke to Sage. He followed up with a freestyle to Rihanna's "Rockstar". For a minute, Jay took a break from music and focused on school, although he still wrote music.
As a freshman in high school, Jay watched as his cousin Vonnie was excited about his journey in the rap game. He was really encouraged by Vonnie to do his music and do it to the best of his ability. Soon after Jay Rich had his own recording equipment, starting with a brand new computer from his grandparents and went to work. Having released song such as, "Friends with Benefits" ft. Young Q and "Talk of the Town" (Prod. by Rayy V).
Early 2012 Jay started making beats on his on, being introduced to producing software by Paul Cooley Jr. Although it took him a minute to figure it all out, Jay is now a certified producer. Soon after learning the programs, he produced his single "Money Motivated" ft. his older brother D.I.F.F.
